Reading make Shorey chief scout

Reading have appointed Steve Shorey chief scout with a contract until 2013.Shorey first took on the role in January when his predecessor Brian McDermott was named manager. Shorey, father of former Royals left-back Nicky, told the club website: "Hopefully this will not be the last contract I sign with the club.
