Reading dealt Hunt blow

Reading manager Brendan Rodgers has been dealt a further blow with his struggling Championship side set to lose Noel Hunt for a period of time following knee surgery.

The Irishman had been troubled by the problem for some time and after seeing a London specialist on Wednesday evening, he underwent the knife to cure the issue.

Hunt, 26, joined the Royals last summer from Dundee United and has netted 15 times so far for the Royals.

It is not yet known how long he will be on the sidelines for.

Meanwhile, Darren O'Dea has returned to training ahead of the weekend clash against Coventry City.
