Rasiak leaves Reading for Cyprus

Reading have allowed Polish striker Grzegorz Rasiak to leave the club for Cypriot top-flight outfit AEL Limassol.

The 31-year-old has struggled to nail down a place in the first team since he joined from Southampton last year and director of football Nick Hammond is pleased the move suits all concerned.

On the move, he said, "With the emergence of our young strikers and the return of Noel Hunt from injury, Grzegorz's chances of playing were going to be limited this season.

"He is at an age where he wants to play regular football, he is fairly expensive for us and therefore this is a deal that I am happy with, it allows him to play, it is good for the club and so it suits all parties.

"He has been a consummate professional in his time here, and I would like to wish both him and his family all the very best in Cyprus."
