Fulham was the first English team Marcus Hahnemann joined after spending two and a half seasons with the Colorado Rapids. In 2001 he went on loan to Rochdale and Reading as he didn't see much playing time at Fulham. In 2002 he moved permanently and in April 2006 he was named as one of the Championship Team of the Year by the Professional Footballers' Association.
