Graeme Murty was born in Middlesborough in 1974.He started his career in 1991 as a trainee for York City.Whilst at the club he made 122 appearances scoring 7 goals and also made an appearance in their victory over Manchester United in the Coca Cola Cup. He stayed there until the summer of 1998 after joining in '93. Although he was born in England he qualifies to play in Scotland through his family and has been capped 3 times by them. Murty has picked up two awards (one in 2001/02 promotion and the other in the 2003/04 campaigne) after being named the fans' official player of the season.
