Reading : As a youngster Dave Kitson was never considered good enough to be a professional player, as a result of this he gave up football completey between the ages of 17 and 20. When he decided to play for non-league team Arlesey Town he was spotted and after a trial at Cambridge he joined the team. In the 2 years he was at Cambridge he made 102 appearances and scored 40 goals.
