Noel in Hunt for Reading return
The 26-year-old had an impressive first season with the Royals before a foot injury in the penultimate home game ended his season prematurely and he subsequently missed both legs of the play-off semi-final defeat to Burnley.
The Republic of Ireland international aims to be off his crutches before he undergoes medical tests to determine when he can return.
Physio John Fearn told the club's official website: "We're hopeful he will be off his crutches within a week or so.
"He will have a further scan and we will be able to make a further review at that point.
"It's likely to have settled down and if all looks good he can come off his crutches and hopefully look to pre-season."
