No surgery for Tabb - Gibbs

Reading assistant manager Nigel Gibbs does not expect Jay Tabb to require surgery on his ankle injury. The midfielder aggravated the problem in last week`s Carling Cup win at Torquay, but he could return to training by the end of this week. Gibbs told the Reading Evening Post: "Jay`s got a bit of an ongoing ankle injury. Hopefully he isn`t going to be out for long. "We`ll just have to wait and see how he is at the end of the week to be honest. It cleared up for a bit but now it has come back. "The last thing we want is him to have an operation. I think he just got unlucky getting a whack on it as well. It`s just the way it goes."
