New terms for Gunnarsson

Reading veteran Brynjar Gunnarsson has signed a new one-year deal with the Championship outfit.

The 34-year-old has featured for the Madejski Stadium-based outfit almost 150 times since he made the move to Berkshire from Watford in the summer of 2005 and the 70-cap Iceland midfielder now looks set to end his career in England.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "To get another year at Reading was obviously very much my first option and I am delighted with the new deal. It will be a pleasure to be a Reading player for another year."

Director of football Nick Hammond added: "To know that Bryn will be part of the squad next season is extremely good news.

"He is the consummate professional and, as he proved time and time again last season, his versatility makes him an absolutely crucial part of our squad."
