New boys Wolves offer free agent Hahnemann return to top flight

Marcus Hahnemann has completed a return to the Barclays Premier League with Wolves. Manager Mick McCarthy has handed a a one-year contract to the American goalkeeper, who was released by Reading last season. 'It's an excellent move for me. Wolves are a massive club and it's another chance to play in the Premier League - that's a huge draw for me,' he told the Express and Star.'I know I have a real fight to be the No 1 and no promises have been made. I know I have to go in there, have a good pre-season and then see what happens.' Hahnemann, 37, will be used as cover for Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey. 'Marcus Hahnemann is coming to play football and is going to challenge for the No 1 spot,' said chief executive Jez Moxey. 'He brings a wealth of experience to our young goalkeepers, who are outstanding.'
