Murty out of Sky Blues reckoning

Murty has been struggling with a calf injury in recent weeks but had hoped to replace regular full-back Liam Rosenior, who is suspended for two games, at the Ricoh Arena this weekend. However he failed to make his comeback in a reserve game against Southampton last week and has now admitted he will not be in the frame to play on Saturday. Murty told the Evening Post: "I have made progress but it's not enough. I initially hoped to play for the reserves last week - when that didn't happen I was hoping it would be this week, but I don't think I'll be ready for that either. "If I push it and come back too early then I will run the risk of re-injuring myself and won't do myself any favours. I am just so disappointed to have missed it. But there is no way I can play if I haven't even had a reserve game." Meanwhile, Iceland international Brynjar Gunnarsson has been ruled out of their fixture against Scotland on Wednesday after injuring his hamstring during Reading's clash with Crystal Palace last Saturday.
