Murty handed Community award
The accolade was awarded to the defender in recognition of his work in the Reading area with schools and community projects.
Murty, who is also patron of a charity seeking to improve facilities for special needs children in the area, told Reading's official website: "There is not much recognition for players going into schools and working with youngsters, but it's important work.
"If I'm doing this work then hopefully some of the other players will do the same."
