McDermott delight at cup shock

Caretaker manager Brian McDermott was full of praise for his Reading players after they pulled off a major shock by winning an FA Cup third round replay 2-1 at Liverpool.
A last-gasp Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty sent the game into extra-time and Shane Long completed an amazing night for the Royals with the winner in the first period of extra-time.
McDermott told the club's official website: "Everybody did the club proud. The staff have been terrific and what can I say about the players tonight? They have been fabulous, fantastic.
"In all honesty, I thought we deserved to win the game. We had chances, we could have scored from good crosses, but the key is to keep getting yourself in those areas.
"To come here, score twice and win in 120 minutes is just a real testament to those players out there."
