McDermott takes Harte from draw

Reading boss Brian McDermott reflected on a point gained after Ian Harte's late penalty salvaged a 1-1 draw for his side at home to Hull in the npower Championship. Corry Evans had bundled in a debut goal for the visitors after 51 minutes following Harte's mix-up with goalkeeper Adam Federici. But the former Leeds defender made up for his error on 80 minutes, slamming home the spot-kick after Tigers keeper Brad Guzan brought down Shane Long. McDermott explained: "I thought in the first half only one team was going to win it and we dominated the game. Then they got their goal - but when we got back to 1-1 I thought it was going our way. "Ian Harte came into the dressing room at the end and held his hands up for their goal. He should have cleared it, but we don't do blame at Reading "Because we were losing with 10 minutes to go it was a point gained for us and a year ago we would not have got it."
