McDermott pleased with response
Reading boss Brian McDermott felt his side restored some pride with their second-half fightback to earn a 3-3 draw with 10-man Norwich.
The visitors were cruising at 3-1 up thanks to goals from Russell Martin, Grant Holt and Chris Martin, with Ian Harte pulling a goal back for the Royals.
But Holt was then controversially sent off by referee Michael Oliver on the stroke of half-time for a foul on Harte and goals from Noel Hunt and Shane Long (penalty) hauled the Royals level.
McDermott said: "That was as poor a first half performance as we have had since I've been here.
"At 3-1 down you have to consider it a point gained. We were great after the break and we had to restore pride in the shirt.
"I don't think it was a red card. But it wasn't about 10 men or 11 men, it was about us in the second half and doing what we needed to do and we did that."
