McAnuff poised to take on Hornets
The winger has been struggling with a back injury since joining the Royals but he proved his fitness by playing just over an hour in the reserves' 2-0 win over Southampton.
McAnuff was denied three times by Southampton goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski in his first appearance in a Reading shirt.
He could now face his former club at the weekend, on the day Royals boss Brendan Rodgers comes up against the club he managed for just over six months before taking over at the Madejski.
David Mooney and Michail Antonio were on target for Reading.
