Lita slams FA suspension

Reading striker Leroy Lita has hit out at Charlton Athletic defender Talal El Karkouri for play-acting after being handed a three-match ban by the FA.

Lita was handed the suspension for aiming a headbutt at the Moroccan stopper during the goalless draw at The Valley on Easter Monday, but was less than impressed with his opponent's reaction.

He fumed: "The incident against Charlton was embarrassing, you don't need that in the game. I didn't touch him, he went down like an idiot and it was cheating.

"I would love to see the FA do something about diving cheats. We have got a good disciplinary record at Reading, but that wasn't taken into consideration.

"I've only got two games at the end of the season now because of the ban. I spoke to Steve Coppell about it and he said the decision was pathetic."
