Liegertwood is currently on loan with the Royals from QPR and made his debut in the 0-0 draw with Leeds last weekend. After being on the receiving end of some physical battles with Liegertwood, Karacan is pleased to have him on his side for a change.
"I've played against him a few times and he's probably one of the players I hate playing against the most," he told the club's official site.
"When I saw that we were signing him I was quite happy that I wouldn't be playing against him for a while.
"He's a quality bloke, he's a very good player and he's been showing that in training recently. We'll be seeing a lot more of him that's for sure."
