Jobi want to pay the penalty

Reading winger Jobi McAnuff has revealed that the Royals squad are all battling to replace departed Gylfi Sigurdsson as the side's dead-ball expert. Sigurdsson took all penalties and free-kicks for Brian McDermott's men before leaving to join Hoffenheim for a club record fee on transfer deadline day and his absence has triggered competition at the Madejski Stadium. He said: "There was some unofficial penalty practising going on in training so there is a bit of a battle on for that one. "Brian Howard has nominated himself but I need to get more goals so I'm in the running. "Shane Long will fancy himself too so we will have to wait and see. "It was a great figure for the club and for Gylfi to go and further his career in a league that is thriving at the moment is good for everybody so best wishes to him."
