Icelandic duo pen new deals
13 Nov 2006 - 17:10:14
Reading's Icelandic duo Ivar Ingimarsson and Brynjar Gunnarsson have pledged their futures to the club by inking contract extensions with the Royals.
Ingimarsson will remain at the Madejski Stadium until June 2009 while Gunnarsson's contract will not expire until the end of the 2007-08 campaign.
Director of football Nick Hammond told the club's official website: "Ivar and Brynjar are both consummate professionals and are fine examples of what Reading Football Club is all about.
"They've made a big impact during their time at Reading and we're delighted that they've both signed new contracts."
Ingimarsson has made almost 150 appearances for Steve Coppell's side in just over three years with the club.
The 29-year-old has also played for Brentford, Wolves and Brighton since arriving in England seven years ago.
Gunnarsson moved to the Royals from Watford in July 2005 and has made 45 appearances for the Premiership new-boys.
His first English club was Stoke City who he joined in December 1999, but he also played for Nottingham Forest before spending the 2004-05 campaign with Watford.
