Hunt ready for Royals return

Reading striker Noel Hunt is confident of being available for Saturday's trip to Preston North End following his recent concussion.

Hunt was forced to miss a Republic of Ireland 'B' game last week after taking a heavy blow to the head while scoring the opening goal in the Royals' 3-1 victory over Burnley on October 4.

"I should be fine," he told the club's official website. "I've been taking it easy in training and I will get stuck into it later on in the week.

"I'm not allowed to head the ball at the moment, but I'll be okay for Preston.

"I still remember nothing about that Saturday at all. I don't think I will ever get that back so I just have to get on with it.

"In a way it's a good thing I don't remember it, because people who get hit may tend to pull out of things in the future. But as I don't remember it, it doesn't bother me."
