Hunt lauds `hero` Armstrong

Reading striker Noel Hunt has labelled team-mate Chris Armstrong as "a hero" after he announced his retirement. Armstrong was forced to hang up his boots this week after revealing his battle with Multiple Sclerosis. The 28-year-old was diagnosed with the illness in December 2009 but had continued to play ever since, turning out for the Royals seven times this season. Hunt said: "To come back from where he was and achieve what he has done is inspirational for any footballer. "I was out for nine months last season with an injury but that was nothing compared to what he has been through. "Any footballer hates being out. He is a hero."
