Hammond: Royals' way the right way

When Coppell left the Royals after failing to attain promotion via the play-offs, he praised the support he was given by chairman John Madejski as well as paying homage to Hammond's contributions to the club. Hammond hopes a new manager will be forthcoming, but insists the club will not be rushed into making a rash appointment. "It's a good football club and the structure is such that when we appoint a manager he has 100% support and the ability to manage in the way he wants," Hammond told the club's official website. "We'll do it (appoint a manager) properly as we did with Steve. It took some time to get Steve. "But we waited and did it right, which we will continue to do as a club."
