Hammond: Hunt out through injury
Hunt did not travel with the squad on Wednesday fuelling speculation that the winger was close to leaving the club.
Director of football Nicky Hammond refuted the rumours telling the Reading Chronicle: "He's got a slight knock. (Reading boss) Brendan Rodgers had to make a decision and decided it was best for Stephen to stay here for intensive treatment rather than travel with the squad.
"We don't expect him to be out for long."
