Hahnemann eyes Royals extension

The 6ft 3in goalkeeper has recently re-established himself as manager Steve Coppell's number one choice after understudy Adam Federici enjoyed a prolonged spell in between the sticks. Hahnemann, 36, has made over 250 appearances for the Royals since his arrival from Fulham in 2002 and admits he is keen to extend his stay at the Madejski Stadium, but the USA international insists he is unsure whether a new deal will be forthcoming. "I really want to stay at Reading, but at the moment I don't know what is going on," Hahnemann told the Evening Post. "I can understand a little bit why they haven't told anyone, but I feel I have plenty left in me - at least two or three years. "I am very happy here. The move to Reading has proved an excellent one. Seven years in football at one club is nearly unheard of these days, but I will go back to the States eventually - the lifestyle is great. "I'm just not ready yet. But to get a new deal I know I have to play well."
