Griffin welcomes Royals loan

Reading have agreed a deal to sign Stoke City full-back Andy Griffin on loan until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old has not featured for the Potters in the Premier League this season and is hoping to get his career back on track with the Royals.

He told the club's official website: "I'm very pleased to be here. This is an opportunity for me to get back out on the pitch and to start playing football again.

"It's been far too long and I'm trying to get back on the football radar and I just want to play and enjoy training.

"That's what I'm getting paid for and I've not been able to do enough of that. So hopefully, in coming down here, I can get some games under the belt.

"I spoke to the manager and he basically wanted me to come down to add my experience and tenacity on the pitch."
