Reading manager Steve Coppell has recalled Leroy Lita from his loan spell at Charlton Athletic as the Royals step up their bid to move away from the bottom three.
Defeats against Newcastle United, Fulham and Arsenal have plunged Coppell's side back towards the relegation zone, and a run of four matches without a goal has led to Lita's return.
Coppell told Reading's official website: "Leroy's been playing regular football for Charlton and will be raring to go. It was an obvious decision to make given the fact that we've not scored lately.
"I made the call to Alan Pardew late on Saturday. We agreed it would be beneficial to us to bring Leroy back and it's impossible for Charlton to get into the play-offs."
The 23-year-old, who has scored 30 goals in 86 appearances for Coppell's side since his transfer from Bristol City almost three years ago, found the net three times in eight games during his time at The Valley.
