Georgian defender out for Royals
Published : 12 Feb 2010 09:28:00
The Georgia international made his home debut in the 2-1 win over Plymouth on Tuesday night but is cup-tied having played in the third round for parent club Blackburn. Matt Mills is available again for manager Brian McDermott, however, after serving a one-match ban and he should take Khizanishvili's place in the centre of defence. Striker Shane Long will start up front after taking his tally to four goals in three games with a double against the Pilgrims in midweek, while midfielders Gylfi Sigurdsson and Marek Matejovsky are close to a return. Sigurdsson - who has scored in both rounds - has been out with a foot injury while Czech Republic international Matejovsky has been struggling with an abdominal injury. Noel Hunt (knee), Chris Armstrong (knee) and Julian Kelly (shoulder) all remain sidelined as the Royals look to make the quarter finals.
