Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has penned a new contract that will keep him at the Madejski Stadium until the end of the 2008-09 campaign.
The 22-year-old Australian has made five first-team appearances for the Royals - all in this season's FA Cup run as Steve Coppell's side reached the fifth round of the competition.
He won the Player of the Round award for his display in the fifth round draw at Manchester United.
Director of football Nick Hammond told the club's official website: "Adam has worked extremely hard over the last couple of years and has thoroughly earned this opportunity.
"There's no doubt that he has a lot of potential and now he needs to take the next step and realise that potential."
Federici spent the second half of last season on loan at Carshalton Athletic and made 28 appearances for the Isthmian League side.
He also spent a brief spell on loan at Bristol City earlier this season and was an unused substitute for the League One side on 11 occasions before returning to Reading in October.
