Exciting times ahead - Hammond

New manager Brendan Rodgers brought in seven players over the summer - including Shaun Cummings, Brian Howard and Darren O'Dea on deadline day itself - while he allowed Liam Rosenior and James Harper to leave. Hammond said: "Deadline day was pleasing for us, we added some fresh faces with good experience and good quality. "We lost a couple of familiar faces and in a way that was sad but it's part of the transition of the club. "I was delighted we were able to bring in players that Brendan wanted. It's his group now and everybody knows it's the early stages of a process so there will be adjustment but these are exciting times. "We've managed to change the squad around quite quickly and give the manager a squad of players he wants so we can all look forward to see this new team develop."
