Reading have concluded their transfer window dealings by signing Stoke City defender Michael Duberry for an undisclosed fee.
Duberry, 31, has put pen to paper on an 18-month contract at the Madejski Stadium, after the Royals activated a clause in the former Chelsea and Leeds United defender's contract which allowed him to speak to a Premiership club.
Reading have already signed goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen, defenders Alan Bennett and Greg Halford, plus midfielder Oliver Bozanic during a busy transfer window.
"Michael is a very experienced centre-half who has played at the highest level, including nearly 150 Premiership appearances and a European final," Reading's director of football Nick Hammond told the club's official website.
"This season he has captained a Stoke team which has the best defensive record in the Championship.
"We think this is a very sensible signing which gives us additional quality as we enter the final stages of the season."
Royals chairman John Madejski added: "This completes a busy period of activity for us in the transfer window and we are very satisfied with the deals we have secured."
