Doyle ignores transfer window

Reading striker Kevin Doyle is adamant that he will not be leaving the Madejski Stadium in the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old recently signed a contract extension that runs until the summer of 2011 and is hoping to focus solely on his side's bid to return to the Premier League.

The Irishman commented: "At least I'm not getting 101 questions about my future now and that was the reason our director of football, Nicky Hammond, came to me.

"Last year we seemed to struggle in January and only got going after the transfer window. Hopefully, we can have a settled month and concentrate.

"The sooner the window is out of the way, the better. We need to forget about everything else.

"It's a great feeling to be challenging for a league as opposed to last season when we were struggling against relegation.

"Everyone seems happier and the team spirit is definitely better."
