Doyle drops Royals exit hint

Reading striker Kevin Doyle has dropped a strong hint that he could be on his way out of the Madejski Stadium before the transfer window closes.

Both Aston Villa and Sunderland have been linked with £7million moves for the Republic of Ireland striker, who scored 12 times in his first season in the top-flight with the Royals.

The 24-year-old netted only six times as Steve Coppell's side were relegated last season, but has been linked with moves away from the Berkshire club throughout the summer.

"I would expect something to happen before the transfer window closes," admitted Doyle.

The striker joined Reading from eircom League side Cork City in 2005.
