Doyle demands consistency
11 Dec 2007 - 14:39:10
Reading striker Kevin Doyle has called on Steve Coppell's inconsistent side to build on the shock 3-1 victory against Liverpool and start to climb the Premier League table.
The Royals secured their first ever victory against top-four opposition at the weekend and also ended Liverpool's unbeaten start to the campaign.
It was also Reading's first win in five games and Doyle, who scored in the success, is looking for a second successive three-point haul against Birmingham City this weekend.
"Usually when we play the top teams we seem to change our game and worry about them, but this time we played 4-4-2, had nothing to lose and it worked out for us," he said.
"Not many other sides will beat a top-four team and so it's a massive bonus, but it's no good if we don't pick up points in the next few weeks. We were not playing well before this."
