Doyle blow stuns Royals

Reading could be without Kevin Doyle for up to a month after the club's top-scorer limped out of Sunday's 1-1 draw at Everton with a hamstring injury. The ten-goal marksman lasted just 38 minutes of the Goodison Park meeting before being replaced by Shane Long. Afterwards Royals boss Steve Coppell revealed the bargain £80,000 signing from Cork City 18 months ago looks set for a spell on the sidelines. "It's a hamstring injury and who knows? It's right in the meat of the muscle and I think it's a couple of weeks at least," he said. "We have no history of him having an injury. We don't think it is serious but you never know." On the 1-1 draw, Coppell added: "They chopped and changed the sort of shape and personnel and moved them around which gave us problems. "But I thought we had weathered the little storm and had been all right. "On the face of it a point was an okay result for us, but having been in front it's just a little disappointing."
