Dillon slams mouthy Brown

24 May 2007 - 13:28:07

Reading's assistant manager Kevin Dillion has slammed Celtic signing Scott Brown over his comments about the Premier League's surprise package.

Dillon, who has just signed a new two-year contract with the Royals, was dismayed by Brown's verbal attack on Reading, after he decided to leave Hibernian for the Bhoys.

Brown had said last week: "I was told I could speak to Reading and Celtic.

"If I had chosen Reading I would probably be fighting a relegation battle next season and then maybe disappearing into the Championship.

"In two years' time people would have been saying 'Remember that lad Scott Brown, whatever happened to him?'."

A furious Dillon told the Reading Chronicle: "Who does he think he is? His comments are outrageous.

"I rarely get annoyed by things, but this has upset me. He wants to get his facts right. It reflects badly on everyone.

"What he said was so wrong. He should have investigated it. He's closed the door on a lot of possibilities, not just with us."
