    Coppell in no window rush

    04 Jan 2008 - 11:45:51

Reading manager Steve Coppell claims he won't be losing any sleep should he fail to sign any players during the current transfer window.

The mid-table Royals have been linked with moves for several players before the window closes at the end of the month, but Coppell doesn't expect a great deal of business to be conducted at the Madejski Stadium.

"We have got a couple of things which may happen, but nothing imminent," he told the club's official website.

"I tried to make it as interesting as possible, but like everything else, the build-up to the January transfer window is always invariably very disappointing.

"All the weeks and weeks of waiting, and then only at the last minute everything is done. I think that is what will happen this time as well.

"Are we desperate? No. If we get nobody will we be losing any sleep? No.

"If we can sign players who we feel will be a long term advantage to this club then we will do that."

Meanwhile, Coppell has played down reports linking out-of-favour striker Leroy Lita with a move to Sunderland.

"We don't need to bring funds in," he added. "You need four strikers so are we looking to sell anybody? No."
