Reading winger Bobby Convey is hoping to finally put his injury problems behind him to help the Royals make sure of Premier League survival.
The 25-year-old USA international played for 30 minutes of the 3-0 weekend defeat at Newcastle United, having been sidelined since the end of January with knee problems.
He told the Evening Post: "It has been a nightmare, but I want the opportunity to prove myself. I feel great and ready to play.
"It was a year ago that I had surgery and I'm not injured any more, I am 100 per cent not injured.
"It has been disappointing at times not to be back in the team when you are doing well in training and the reserves. You have to be patient and I have been for two-and-a-half months.
"I feel I have a lot to prove to the fans, the manager, the chairman, everyone. It has been difficult because I've not had the stage to prove myself over an extended period of time."
Convey joined the Royals in the summer of 2004 and has scored eight goals in 103 appearances to date.
