Church suspension stands

Reading striker Simon Church will miss the Boxing Day clash at home to Swansea City after being dismissed at Bristol City last weekend.

He was cautioned after contesting a penalty awarded to the home side before he was even on the pitch and was then given his marching orders after scoring a dramatic last-gasp leveller.

Church celebrated with the Royals' supporters and was deemed by referee Mark Haywood to have left the field of play.

The club have now received confirmation from the FA and he will miss the festive fixture.

Meanwhile, Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano will miss the FA Cup third round clash at Madejski Stadium after seeing red in their 2-0 Premier League defeat at Portsmouth on Saturday.
