The 20-year-old, with seven goals in 10 games at this level, will be thrust into the limelight for the new UEFA Championship qualifying campaign now the likes of Ched Evans, Sam Vokes and Aaron Ramsey have been promoted to the senior squad. All three played a major part in the previous campaign which saw Wales win their group and almost shock England in a play-off for this summer's finals in Sweden. Church was frequently used as a substitute in the previous campaign, but now he has the chance to take centre-stage. The new competition gets under way on Friday before the summer finals have even started, with Wales taking on Luxembourg at the Stade du Complex Sport Deich in Ettelbruck with the return at Llanelli next Tuesday. Church has been out on loan with Leyton Orient this season and is relishing the chance to lead the Wales attack. He said: "With Sam and Ched now in the senior squad I have the chance to prove I can be the main striker. "I have shown what I can do with seven goals already and I will now have the opportunity to start a lot more games - I hope - and show what I can do. "I am in a position now where I am in the spotlight and hopefully (senior manager) John Toshack will be watching me. "That is how Ched and Sam got themselves into the senior squad and I hope to follow." Under-21 boss Brian Flynn sends out a new wave of raw youngsters as he starts building all over again for his country's football future. Flynn said: "This is a new dawn, a new beginning for these lads. They will have a lot to live up to after what the previous squad achieved, but I have high hopes for them." Flynn now has a squad of around 20 who will form the group that embarks on the new set of qualifiers. Wales are in Group Three as second seeds in a section that also includes Italy, Bosnia and Hungary. Flynn has lost four players from his original squad with Rhys Taylor (Chelsea), Joe Partington (Bournemouth) and Kayne McLaggan (Southampton) out injured while Rhys Williams (Middlesbrough) has been elevated to the senior squad. The newcomers, all uncapped, are James Bloom (Cardiff), Ashley Richards (Swansea), Chris Maxwell (Wrexham), Casey Thomas (Swansea) and 17-year-old Jake Taylor (Reading).
