Church up for Manset challenge

Reading striker Simon Church insists he will soon be back amongst the goals and does not feel pressurised by new signing Mathieu Manset. The 21-year-old Wales international has only netted once in his last 16 matches, meaning his total for the season is just four in 33 appearances. The January capture of Hereford striker Manset has put more pressure on the Royals forwards to find the net but Church is not worried and is determined to repay the faith shown in him by boss Brian McDermott. Church told the Reading Evening Post: "With each game, I'm gaining more confidence, but it's just the goals, which I know myself will come. "I've just got to focus. The manager has shown a lot of faith to bring me back into the team and I know myself that things will change and, hopefully, I'll get a good scoring run." On Manset, he added: "Fair play to him, he's here to score goals. He's such a great lad and he's been pretty overwhelmed with his situation, but that's what you want. "Our job is to score goals and we're a tight-knit group and support whoever plays."
