Bikey beginning to impress

On-loan Reading defender Andre Bikey is close to earning a permanent deal with the Premiership newcomers.

The 22-year-old Cameroon international is currently on a season-long loan from Lokomotiv Moscow and has impressed Royals boss Steve Coppell during his time at the Madejski Stadium.

"He is still coming to terms with Premiership football, but given his age and the quality of some of his performances he is getting there," Coppell commented.

"With a lot of young players consistency is elusive and even within a game he can be inconsistent. He can do some superb things and then some naive ones.

"But as a raw material at 22 years of age he has a very bright future, with us I hope.

"I think we have probably made our decision, but we are not going to say anything because hopefully he is still desperate to prove something."

Bikey has made 17 appearances for Reading to date, with his only goal coming in the 4-3 Carling Cup third round defeat at Liverpool.
