Albanian international striker Hamdi Salihi has signed for Major League Soccer (MLS) club D.C. United from Rapid Vienna, the Austrian team announced on Thursday.
The 28-year-old has played for the Vienna-based club since 2009, after joining from another Austrian side Ried.
He has scored 53 goals in 90 games for Rapid but this season has found himself consigned to the replacements bench.
Salihi joins former Rapid player, Montenegrin Branko Boskovic, at D.C. United.
No details were given on the transfer fee.
