Gregg Wylde would welcome the addition of Dundee United striker David Goodwillie to the Rangers squad for next season.[LNB] The Ibrox club have targeted the 22-year-old Tannadice striker although they have baulked at the £2million asking price.[LNB]New Light Blues manager Ally McCoist has yet to make a new signing since taking over from Walter Smith but speaking at the club's Murray Park training ground, where he was helping to publicise the launch of the club's new away kit, Wylde claimed Goodwillie would be a good first addition for the champions.[LNB]"It would be good to see Goodwillie come to help the squad and score goals," the 20-year-old midfielder said.[LNB]"What he did at Dundee United last season was brilliant so hopefully, if he does come here, he can carry it on.[LNB]"The boys are looking forward to the season ahead after winning the league last season.[LNB]"If the manager brings in signings to change the squad and make it stronger, we have to work hard and hopefully he will pick us.[LNB]"I would like to play more games than I did last season but to finish with two medals, I can't complain, and hopefully I can continue that next season."[LNB]Kyle Hutton claims any new signings are to be welcomed.[LNB]The Ibrox midfielder, though, is heartened by the fact that so far, the club have managed to keep their big stars, including goalkeeper Allan McGregor who has been linked with Aston Villa, although Rangers' new owner Craig Whyte has said the Scotland number one is not for sale.[LNB]"Competition is good for a club," the 20-year-old said.[LNB]"If new signings come in, we will just have to deal with it.[LNB]"It's part and parcel of football so all you can do is keep doing your best and hopefully catch the gaffer's eye.[LNB]"It is a bonus (that the squad is intact). If you are comfortable with your team-mates it can only be a good thing.[LNB]"If we can keep a hold of (McGregor) that will be a big plus.[LNB]"You saw what he did last year, he was outstanding.[LNB]"The saves he pulled off and the way he conducts himself on the pitch, he could easily play in England."[LNB]Rangers' players returned for pre-season training today and Hutton is hoping the transition to life under McCoist is seamless.[LNB]"You just have to start where you left off last season," he said.[LNB]"Do everything you did last year and try to improve on little things and hopefully it will get bigger and better."[LNB]While the focus was on the forthcoming campaign for Rangers, both Wylde and Hutton admitted they would be willing to play for a Great Britain team in the 2012 London Olympics.[LNB]Controversy has surrounded the issue of Team GB this week following the announcement by the British Olympic Association that a "historic agreement" had been reached with the four home nations for a united football team, primarily consisting of players who are under 23.[LNB]The Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish football associations denied any agreement and SFA chief executive Stewart Regan reiterated his belief that such a move would be a threat to the autonomy of his organisation.[LNB]However, Wylde said: "I wouldn't mind to be honest.[LNB]"I haven't been called up to the Scotland squad yet and hopefully if I play this season I will be called up.[LNB]"But if I do get called up to the Team GB team it would be good for me and my career ahead."[LNB]Hutton added: "I feel the same. Obviously if the chance came along to be picked for Team GB it would be a great achievement for me.[LNB]"It is the whole event, everybody knows about it (the Olympics)."[LNB]Hutton admits he would relish the prospect of playing alongside former England midfielder David Beckham, if that were to be the case - but insists Rangers remain his priority.[LNB]"He is a world wide superstar because of his ability and to play alongside him would be a dream come true," said Hutton.[LNB]"But if it coincided with the league and stuff like that I would leave it out and stick with Rangers and totally focus on them."
