Danny Wilson admits he has been delighted with the way he has handled the pressure of becoming a Rangers regular at the age of 18.[LNB] Ibrox defender Wilson was rewarded for a stellar debut season in senior football when he was named PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.[LNB]The teenager - who saw off competition from three strikers in Anthony Stokes, David Goodwillie and Leigh Griffiths - was part of a clean sweep of gongs for Rangers, who also picked up the Player of the Year, Manager of the Year and Goal of the Season awards at Sunday's ceremony in Glasgow.[LNB]Wilson said: "I feel that I've come into the team and there's been responsibility placed on me and I've felt that - for the most part - I've dealt with it.[LNB]"I'd like to think that when I'm going on, I'm not too much of a burden."[LNB]Wilson, who hit out at the pressure being put on him to extend his contract, which expires in just over a year, could hardly have hoped for a better debut campaign.[LNB]"I came into the season with not too high hopes," said Wilson, who has picked up Scottish Premier League and Co-operative Insurance Cup winners' medals.[LNB]"I've managed to play more than 20 games and I've managed to cap it with this personal award.[LNB]"It's great for me but the most important thing was for the team to continue to win.[LNB]"It's nice for me to make my debut and come into a team, but it's even better that I've come into a team that's been winning things."[LNB]He added: "I was on the bench a lot last year.[LNB]"But, this season, I managed to get some games under my belt and I felt much more part of it.[LNB]"To have a league winners' medal at 18 is a great feeling."[LNB]Wilson paid tribute to defensive partner David Weir, who is more than twice his age.[LNB]"Davie is not only a great footballer and a great professional, he's a great guy off the pitch," said the youngster of the man who turns 40 next Monday.[LNB]"It's nice to have somebody whose willing to take the time just to have a conversation with you."[LNB]Weir was pipped to the player of the year prize by Steven Davis, while Walter Smith was manager of the year.[LNB]The latter, who has yet to decide whether to stay on next season, remains as hungry as ever for success, revealing he actually deals with defeat more badly the older he gets.[LNB]"You do get a wee bit less tolerant of a lot of things," the 62-year-old said.[LNB]"We've not had a great deal of defeats this season but the ones that you've had, as you get older, you certainly feel them a bit harder and they're harder to overcome."
