Whittaker: Gers must finish job

The full-back was devastated to miss out on the top prize on the final day last year, when a crippling fixture list eventually took its toll. This time around, Walter Smith's men know victory in their last three matches - beginning with Hibernian at Easter Road on Wednesday night - will see them crowned Scottish champions. Whittaker said: "I've always dreamed of winning the league. "When I signed here, I hoped I would achieve that and we came so close to getting there last year. "The fixture schedule went against us then and we never quite did it but, this time, we have no excuses and we feel we can win it." Whittaker insists Rangers never threw in the towel, despite falling seven points behind their rivals in December. He told Rangers News: "We were never out of the title race and never thought we were. The thought of being close enough to go top has kept us going. "The guys have shown great determination to eventually catch Celtic and get things back in our control. "I think our attitude mentally is definitely going to be important. "In the run we've been on recently, we've shown the toughness required to win the title." Rangers 4/9, Draw 11/4, Hibernian 6/1
