Weiss looks to maintain lead
Vladimir Weiss is determined to shrug off Rangers' injury problems as they look to maintain their three-point lead over Celtic.
Rangers sit three points clear at the summit of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League but have a difficult encounter on Sunday against Scottish Cup holders Dundee United at Tannadice. Kyle Lafferty joined Walter Smith's injury list on Wednesday when he broke a bone in his hand before the Champions League defeat by Manchester United.
Weiss said: "He (Lafferty) was a bit unlucky but we've got a lot of young players who can play at this level and Kyle Hutton was brilliant against Manchester United. There are going to be a few more lads who will get the chance and hopefully they can help the team and do as well as he did."
Weiss added: "It's a hard game in front of us. We are three points clear and we want to stay three points clear after Sunday but it will be a dangerous game."
Madjid Bougherra, Sasa Papac, Andy Webster, Maurice Edu and Nikica Jelavic also missed the encounter.
Limited resources mean the on-loan Manchester City winger is also in a position to cement his own place in manager Walter Smith's plans.
The 20-year-old Slovakian said: "I was injured for a few weeks but every time I'm fit, and any time the manager picks me, I'm ready to step in and do my best."
