Weiss thinking of long-term success

Vladimir Weiss is confident his loan move to Rangers will boost his career in the long-term despite warnings about the standard of the SPL.[LNB] Celtic boss Neil Lennon - who had also targeted the Manchester City winger - this week spoke of the difficulties he has faced in luring potential signings north of the border because of what he believes to be false perceptions of Scottish football.[LNB]Weiss may have opted for Old Firm rivals Rangers instead of the Hoops but fully expects to be challenged in his new surroundings as he prepares to go straight into the squad for Sunday's SPL clash at Hibernian.[LNB]He said: "People were telling me that this league is not as hard as the Premier League or they were comparing it to the Championship.[LNB]"I've seen a lot of games and playing for a club like Rangers is a pleasure for me. I don't think this league is easy at all.[LNB]"I've had friends from Slovakia who have played in this league and everybody told me that this league is tough and I can learn a lot this season.[LNB]"Rangers want to win the league and I want to win every game in the league. I want to get to the last 16 of the Champions League and go on from there.[LNB]"What I want to do is play week in, week out. At my age, I think that's what I need.[LNB]"That's why I came here, to get football and get some more experience."[LNB]Although happy to spend this season at Ibrox, Weiss still sees his future at Eastlands.[LNB]"I've got three years left and they didn't want me to go on a permanent deal so that means the club sees a future in me," he said.[LNB]"Whether I make it in the future is up to me. After this season, I want to be a Manchester City player.[LNB]"I don't want to go on loan again, I want to stay in the team and fight for my chance."[LNB]Weiss had a loan spell at Bolton last term but Rangers boss Walter Smith expects his stay at Ibrox to be more profitable for the 20-year-old.[LNB]He said: "He went out on loan last year and didn't get as many games as he would have liked and, from our point of view, we hope we would give him the involvement that he wants.[LNB]"We've not had an out and out winger in our group since I came back really. Chris Burke was the only one and he was injured most of the time before he went to Cardiff.[LNB]"We've now got someone who is of that ilk and I think it's a necessary aspect.[LNB]"We have been a little frustrated at not having that type of player in our group, who can turn a game at different times.[LNB]"So hopefully Vladimir will get far more matches than he has done over the past few seasons both for his own club and the loan clubs he's been at."[LNB]Meanwhile, Hibernian midfielder Edwin de Graaf insists he needs time to adapt to the Scottish game after struggling on his SPL debut against Motherwell last week.[LNB]John Hughes' side came from behind to win the match 3-2 but the experienced former NAC Breda player was not satisfied with his own performance.[LNB]However, he hopes he will be included for Sunday's visit of Rangers in a game which marks the official opening of the new East Stand at Easter Road.[LNB]He said: "We got a good result against Motherwell so I'm really happy for everyone involved with the team.[LNB]"For me, personally, it's difficult because during pre-season we didn't really play against Scottish teams.[LNB]"Motherwell was a difficult game. I didn't play well because everything was behind me and not at my feet.[LNB]"I think it will get better every week but it will take some time to play the Scottish way."
