Weiss out to nail down Gers place

Rangers winger Vladimir Weiss was delighted to start against Dundee United after being left out against Manchester United in midweek.[LNB] The on-loan Manchester City winger was an unused substitute in Tuesday's goalless draw at Old Trafford but played from the off on Saturday and gave Walter Smith a reminder of what he had to offer.[LNB]Weiss said: "I don't really like to sit on the bench but if the manager decides that way, I'm only 20, and I've got to respect that.[LNB]"It's always a bit frustrating but, as soon as I get a chance, I try to impress and do my best.[LNB]"We don't have that many players in the squad so the gaffer tried to change things a little bit and made two changes from Tuesday night.[LNB]"He's always going to swap it around and every time I play I need to do my best."[LNB]Weiss's efforts were rewarded with the man of the match award.[LNB]But, despite his plans to impress the manager, he claims the three points were more important than personal plaudits.[LNB]He added: "For me it doesn't really matter who gets the man of the match.[LNB]"We are looking to win every game and we have got a 100% record at the moment. We are happy that we won again."[LNB]An own-goal from Sean Dillon handed Rangers an early advantage before Kenny Miller doubled the lead in the second half.[LNB]Steven Naismith then came off the bench to add to the goals and Miller struck again to claim his eighth goal in five SPL outings.[LNB]Weiss said: "Kenny is a great finisher and he showed again that he knows where to be in the box.[LNB]"He's always looking to score and it's another two goals for him. After five games, he's on fire and we need that in our team."[LNB]Meanwhile, Weiss insists he has no problems coping with the SPL after Scott Robertson and Jon Daly were both booked for crunching tackles on the young player.[LNB]He said: "It's a tough league. If it's in Scotland or England, a player like me is always going to get kicked.[LNB]"I'm trying not to get frustrated but it's all experience and I think every minute in a game gives me something and I'm learning.[LNB]"I've got no problems with the tackles - at least until they break my legs!"[LNB]United boss Peter Houston had been hopeful of causing an upset at Ibrox and was far from impressed by his players' capitulation towards the end.[LNB]He said: "At 1-0, the noise from the fans suggested they were starting to get upset a bit and I know Ally McCoist was out a couple of times to give the players a rattle verbally.[LNB]"But it was disappointing after the second goal and there are no excuses for the ending."
