Weiss: I've got to earn my place

Vladimir Weiss admits he was even more determined than usual to make an impact against Dundee United after finding himself on the bench for Rangers in the Champions League. The on-loan Manchester City winger was an unused substitute in Tuesday's goalless draw against Manchester United. The 20-year-old admits he was frustrated by his lack of action at Old Trafford and says he had no option but to remind boss Walter Smith what he had to offer in Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash at Ibrox. Weiss said: "I don't really like to sit on the bench but if the manager decides that way, I'm only 20, and I've got to respect that. "It's always a bit frustrating but, as soon as I get a chance, I try to impress and do my best. "We don't have that many players in the squad so the gaffer tried to change things a little bit and made two changes from Tuesday night. He's always going to swap it around and every time I play I need to do my best."
